We number our drawing files 01, 02, etc... However sometimes we have to number them 16A, 16B, etc... On the drawing itself we eliminate all leading zero's. The way Hurricane does it now I have to run all the 01, 02 , etc... files. After the rest of the title block is filled in, I have to go back and disable the sheet count and number the 16A, 16B, etc... manually. Would it be possible to fix it so that Hurricane would eliminate the first two or more zero's?
Thank You C. Wyan |

Hi Cwyan,
Actually, this feature is already built in to Hurricane.
If you click on the "User Tag Manager" in the Tools menu it will display the options screen.
Under the $SHEET$ area (middle left), there is a checkbox to "trim" the leading zeros, as well as to specify how many characters to scan for.
Please let me know if this works for you! If not, could you please provide me a list of filenames? Thanks!

I found that feature, but if I set it to three (3) characters it will put a /01 for drawing number 1. All I want in the Drawing is a 1. If I set it for two (2) characters then it will trim the leading zero, but will not put all of 16B in the drawing. For example if the drawing number is 16B, it will put 6B in the drawing. If I set it so it will put 16B in the drawing then in drawing number 1 it will put /01. |

Hi cwyan,
The output you are referring to is expected, considering the way the files are named...
It seems you have them named something like...
/drawings/01.dwg /drawings/02.dwg /drawings/03.dwg /drawings/04.dwg /drawings/16A.dwg
This would present a problem.
I hate to say "Hurricane can't"... but it is behaving as currently designed.
For this to function properly you will have to rename your files to /drawings/001.dwg /drawings/002.dwg /drawings/003.dwg /drawings/004.dwg /drawings/16A.dwg
For the time-being, you can use this nice little utility that will help you rename files to whatever format you wish (numbered incrementally etc...) http://www.74mph.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=53
I will put your request into the list of things to add to the next release of Hurricane!
Thanks, Bill |

Thank you for the temporary solution. It is no problem for us to add a zero to the drawing no. |
