Is it posible to use hurricane to work on text files, I would like to extract some information from a list of text files, then import that information into an excel file.

Hi bastillo,

Hurricane creates a script that AutoCAD then executes line-by-line. If you write a lisp or VBA that is called by the lisp to then call a text file and extract info from that text file, then apply it to the currently loaded AutocAD dwg, then yes, it is possible. However you will have to develop the lisp or vba yourself.

However, I find the best way to manipulate text for reinsertion into Excel, is to just use Excel.

I hope that answers your question.

(There are some lisp and VBA examples in the forum and online elsewhere which you can manipulate to suit your needs).

Regards,
Bill
