I tried to run a script using DWGgateway to open drawings created in AutoCAD2004 and save the drawings in AutoCAD2000 .DWG format, Hurricane creates the script OK, but DWGgateway opens a browser to select the drawings instead of running through the drawing list. I have tried several different ways of doing this but I always end up with DWGgateway opening the file select browser. I went to the AutoCAD command line and tried DGOPEN and _DGOPEN, both produce the same result, the drawing browser opens causing any script to stop, most annoying. Any ideas? I am running AutoCAD2002, Windows XP pro, Hurricane 6.8.12
Thanks all

It may be easier the convert the DWG version and avoid DWG GATEWAY all together. Autodesk's TrueView program is FREE and will convert up and down to almost any version. Might be worth looking into. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112 |

Hi Bill After I stopped kicking myself for forgetting about the Filedia variables I changed the script to try again, unfortunately I still could not get it to run, even if I simplify to the point of Open, Zoom Extents, Qsave. When the script starts for some reason it is looking for DWG_1 in my C:\Program files\AutoCAD directory and this stops the script. I played around for a little while trying various settings but nothing seemed to work so for now I have reverted back to an old conversion program I used in the past, luckily the files were created in AutoCAD2004 so I was able to use this to convert the files to 2002. I have saved a copy of all the original drawings to play with later, at the moment I do not have time, kind of busy this week. Thanks for your help, I will let you know how I get on Thanks |

Hmmm.. the only way to diagnose that is to take a look at the hurricane.scr file.
If you could, at your earliest convenience, get your hurricane.scr file (the one that doesn't work) from the /SUPPORT/ directory, and post it here (ZIP it please), then we can see what the issue might be with "DWG_1" being loaded. Obviously there is something that is causing that to be generated. Please double-check your SETTINGS tab (you should add your FILEDIA commands there)
