Any thoughts on being able to use wildcard characters in the S&R scripts. I'm often having to send dwgs for approval and/or fabrication and I'm req'd to show an app. stamp with date. With many people working on many dwgs. the dates are scattered though the month and I need to change them all to my release date, which usually isn't known until all dwgs. are done.

Hi DDuck,

I've often thought of doing that... unfortunately, I'm no lisp programmer. (I'm sure it would be real easy for someone experienced in lisp to do something like that... but the function of this lisp would have to be well defined up front)

I might be able to do something in VBA though, but this might limit it's effectiveness (as my experience is that most people shy away from this sort of thing...) (maybe I'm wrong!?)

Example:
-VBALOAD "$HUR_PATH$LISP/SNR.dvb"
-VBARUN SNR.SearchAndReplace
xxx
yyy
VBAUNLOAD "$HUR_PATH$LISP/SNR.dvb"

I think I might be able to use the HAR.ZIP utility (this was the early version of the Title-Block Update utility) to use as a base template...

Any comments?
Bill

My first thought is that you need to integrate an attribute within your FOR APPROVAL stamp block. Then your script would look for its tag and replace it with the current date $MM/DD/YY$ no matter what is was. That may not help you in the near term though...

Maybe in the near term you could swap out your old blocks for the new ones. But that could get complicated.
