After using the fairly new Queue Option "Report DWG Version" it got me thinking about something else...

The "Copy to Clipboard" Queue options are really great for pasting into transmittal forms and other documents. Many times this can be an extremely long list however. How about adding the following additional copy to clip option.

"Filenames without Extension - Comma Delimited" (A shorter name may be more appropriate of course.)

I'm not asking for a csv file...just a comma delimited format for pasting. (The filenames would be all on the same line.) This new feature would depend on the use of "word wrap" in a transmittal form or other documents. filename/comma/space... as in:

###, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###, ###

There are many cases where our file names are sequential, so all we need to list is the first and last. But we equally run into the non-sequential name list for one reason of another.

This works great Bill!

Regarding your comments:

1) Personally I have NO need for a file extension...
2) Removing the trailing comma would be convenient of course
3) "Copy to Clipboard->All..." would probably be the most commonly used option for us. (But we have never issued 3000 drawings on a transmittal yet In fact, if it's a long list...then it's probably sequential numbering so we only list the first and last anyway.)

Thanks Again Bill

Hi Miksteele,

Here is the update the covers both your suggestions. (I've also added a few scripts that have come up in other discussions along the way... (also to be included in the next full release))

Download Attachment: Hurricane 6.3.14.zip
166.03 KB

This is a "first pass", at the CSV Clipboard output... (you'll find it by right clicking in the Queue, and then selecting "Copy to Clipboard->Selected->Filenames Comma Separated".

There are a couple of things I could change. (I just wanted to get this out there)
1) Currently, the filenames don't have a .DWG (or whatever extension) on the end. This can be added, if need be, or even an option to select it (in another options menu, as these menus are just getting jam-packed with options already! (I figure the filenames are all ready going to be long enough, so adding the extension would just make things look even more verbose)
2) Remove the trailing comma. (yes, sloppy, but I'll fix it next pass)
3) Add the same entry under the "Copy to Clipboard->All..." (What if the file list is 3000 files... I'll have to do some testing, and see what the limitations are )
4) ???

Regards,
Bill
