Posted - November 23 2004 : 12:54:38 PM Individuals using your "SEARCH and LOG Wizard" may find it more convenient if the default output was set to:
$HUR_PATH$dataoutput.lst
instead of C:output.txt
This would essentially turn your "SEARCH and LOG Wizard" into a "Make Content Specific FILELIST ...." wizard (without the obvious manual workaround).
(I think your canned VB "findandlog.dvb" can be manually scripted to give different but similar results. It is often more convenient to use your wizard for search and log tasks. For us anyway...)
I realize that your original intent may have been to set a generic default in attempt to eliminate potential script errors. But...Do you think the other Hurricane users who use the "Search and Log" wizard generally do it to determine which drawings will require another script to be run or otherwise would find it convenient to simply pull up the results in Hurricane's queue |

Posted - November 25 2004 : 6:40:17 PM I've posted the update here... http://www.74mph.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=141
I've expanded your idea, and actually did this...
$HUR_PATH$DATA/$USER$-TextLog.lst
This way, when used in a Networked environment, when the user enters the "FileLists" button, all they have to do is click the "Personal" checkbox, and only their "Lists" will appear. (and they won't constantly be overwriting each others lists!! )
Thanks again for the suggestion...
Regards, Bill

Posted - November 24 2004 : 08:12:24 AM Hi MikSteele,
You have a point...!!!
Quite frankly, I don't know why the h#ck I didn't make it like that in the first place.. as that was the original intent !!)
(I'm out of town right now, but I will post that change within a day or so!)
Thanks again for your comments!!
Best Regards, Bill

Posted - November 23 2004 : 1:23:17 PM I might have to get our company to fly you up here and give me a training session on Hurricane. Then you can make a pitch to do some of our detailing, too. (Apparently nobody from here contacted you when I gave your name to the "powers that be".) From the content I've seen on your posts, they could multiply the IQ's of each of the brain-dead detailers we use, and still not approach your IQ number. (I wish I knew a fraction of what you apparently know about how to use this one program, alone. Thanks for all of your posts! |
