Hello All,
Seems to me back in the last milenium there was a way to batch repath the xrefs for a large group of dwgs. These are older files that did not have the benefit of Project manager. Does anyone remember or know a way to script the repathing of the xrefs in multiple drawings. What I'd like to do is make the paths relative as i have a good consistant project folder system.

Thanks for your thoughts,
Stan

Hey Steve you're right that's it!! Thanks so much. I was racking my brain, small as it is, for that interface. Thank god for the awesome CAD community!!

Cheers!

Hi Steve,
Thanks so much. I am searching as well and will post if I find something. I did find one application that I've yet to try, www.linkfixerplus.com and yet to find out what it costs. I would imagine this would be a useful script\routine\function for anyone commercially active in CAD.I'll post what I know as I go.

Thanks,
Stan

Maybe you don't need a lisp routine. I found this on another forum:

Re: Xref Path
Try using the Reference Manager. It's a separate program installed with AutoCAD (I think from 2005 onwards). You'll find it in Start --> All Programs --> AutoCAD 200# --> Reference Manager

Using this you can select several drawings at once, without having to open them. You can also change the paths to several xrefs (with similar paths) at once, not one at a time.

I figured my answer was too easy. That's why I made it into a question. I'll try to look for a lisp and repost if I find anything.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the input. Your suggestion is great for an active drawing but what I'm trying to accomplish is to repath an entire project without opening up each drawing. These are pre project manager version projects that i have archived away but need to go back to from time to time. There use to be a routine or small program for this but for the life of me I can't remember nor is it on my system.

Thanks,
Stan

Perhaps Express Tools, File Tools, Redefine Path ?
