I just updated my PC and know the plot script that I have used forever is faulting. The only time I seem to recieve the fault is when plotting off my desktop. The third or fouth file is where the error begins.

What happens is after the script calls for the printer model it immediately writes the paper size to the command prombt (I assume the printer model does not have time to open). The command line history is below.

Any suggestions? Thank you!

Thanks Bill!

I created a new printer in AutoCAD and that seemed to have solved my issue. I do not believe it is the drawing files since other people in my group could successfully plot the same files in Hurricane.

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

I thought I was the only one in the world with this problem.

It seems to exit the plot command as soon as the printer name is specified.

After literally spening 2 straight days playing with this exact issue (yes, those were real slow days) I came to the understanding that in some cases it had to do with the printer driver, and in other cases the DWG file itself (somehow!? impacting the driver).

I recall isolating some of the "problem" drawings, and trying to run the batch without them, and sometimes it worked sometimes not. I recall it felt like someone was playing with the printer driver at the other end of the network, because sometimes it worked, and other times not.

I recommend creating a "NEW" printer in AutoCAD config (reinstalling the same printer). Sometimes during upgrades I think things hiccup a bit.

I believe how I finally isolated the problem was to do the good-ol "take the problem file and wblock it to a NEW file and resave". (Remember those days!?)

Funny, I haven't seen this problem lately. But I am quite sure it is specific to the DWG, (in other words it will only happen on some DWG's but not others). I wonder if your originating files were created in an AutoCAD clone like Intellicad or the SolidWorks DWG editor. (That turned out to be my problem back then)

We were getting drawings froma variety of suppliers, and each one was technically providing them in DWG format, but WASN'T necessarily using AutoCAD to create them. Then someone else takes those drawings, and copy's/edits them using either another such product, or then AutoCAD. Anyhow, to make a long story short, seems the files can get a little messed up, and somehow influence the printer driver. I KNOW! sounds rediculous!

Let me know how it goes!

Regards,
Bill
