I have gotten this error message when I click on the "Preview" button at the lower left of the Files Queue window. Then the program crashes.

My question is what are we previewing* and why does it crash

* I understand we are previewing the currently selected drawing, but are we seeing the script run in "Preview". Shame it crashes, I would like to have answered this question myself.

Hi...

Furthermore, for the adventurous you can also open up the windows command prompt by clicking on the "START" button, then select "RUN", then type "CMD" (without the quotes)

You should see a Command prompt appear.

You can navigate to the directory that has the DWGPREV.OCX in it (you may have to search for it, but it is usually in the /SYSTEM32/ directory (navigate by using DIR and the usual DOS commands.

Once there type
REGSVR32 DWGPREV.OCX

If successful, restart Hurricane and your DWGPreview should function normally.

Bill

Hi Brian,

There could be a couple of things that are causing this.

Firstly, you are previewing the drawing as an image in a little floating window. This makes for easy selection of the appropriate files. If the driver (DWGPREVIEW.OCX) isn't registered or properly configured in the system, it will give an unexpected error.

To solve...
1) You might not be running the 1+Mb hurricane.exe file (which unpacks the DWGPreview.OCX file at runtime), if you are running the smaller patch file instead, you will need to run the old/large Hurricane.exe at least once on each NEW machine that you run Hurricane on), as this will unpack the file in realtime, and make sure it is available to the OS.

2) There might have been a corruption of the DWGPreview.OCX file. In which case, perform a search for the above file and delete it. Then run the large 1.5Mb hurricane.exe file (at least once) to initialize the OCX back into the effected system.

Regards,
Bill
